Enroll contacts in a campaign
Updated
Enroll contacts to start sending them a campaign. Ostira sends each step on its day, counted from the day each contact is enrolled.
Before you start: add at least one step to the campaign. See Build a campaign.
Enroll contacts
- On Campaigns, select the campaign.
- Select Enroll Contacts.
- Optional: type in the "Search by name or email..." box to find people.
- Select each contact you want. To pick everyone in the list, select Select all.
- Select the enroll button at the bottom. It shows how many you picked, for example "Enroll 3 contacts".
You'll see "Enrolled" with the number added. Select Enroll more to add others, or Back to campaign.
Who can't be enrolled
- Contacts marked Do Not Contact show "Opted out" and can't be selected. See Do Not Contact and unsubscribes.
- A contact who is already active or paused in this campaign is skipped, so they don't get it twice.
Both are counted under "Skipped (opted out)" in the result, even though the second group didn't opt out.
A contact who finished the campaign or was unenrolled can be enrolled again. They start from the first step.
If you can't enroll
If a step has a Fair Housing issue that blocks sending, selecting Enroll Contacts shows "Campaign has Fair Housing compliance issues. Resolve all violations in step content before enrolling contacts." Open the steps marked with issues, fix the wording, then try again. See How the Fair Housing check works.
What happens next
- The first step sends right away if it's set to day 0.
- Each enrolled contact appears under Enrolled Contacts on the campaign's page.
- If a contact texts or emails you back, Ostira pauses their campaigns and lets you know. See Pause, resume or unenroll.
- A step can be skipped for one contact, for example an email step when they have no email. See Why a campaign step was skipped.
