Can't sign in or reset your password

Find the message you see below, then follow its fix. Most sign-in problems end with a password reset.

"Invalid email or password"

The email or password doesn't match an account. Check the email for typos. Passwords are case-sensitive. If you still can't get in, reset your password:

1. On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?
2. Enter your email and select Send reset link.
3. Open the email from Ostira and select the reset link within 1 hour.
4. On "Choose a new password", enter a new password of at least 8 characters.
5. Select Reset password.
6. On "Password updated", select Sign in.

The "Check your email" screen appears whether or not an account uses that address. If no email arrives, check your spam folder and the address you typed. Resetting your password signs you out everywhere you're signed in.

"Too many login attempts. Please try again later."

Ostira allows 5 sign-in attempts per email, and 10 from the same network, in 15 minutes. Every attempt counts. Wait 15 minutes and try again. If you're not sure of your password, reset it while you wait.

"Too many reset requests. Please try again later."

You can request 3 reset links per email in an hour. Wait an hour, or use the newest link you already received.

"Invalid or expired reset link. Please request a new one."

Reset links last 1 hour and work only once. Go back to Forgot password? and request a new link.

You're signed in, but see "Verify your email"

Ostira needs a verified email before you can use the app. Select Resend verification email and open the new link. Each new link replaces older ones, and links last 24 hours. You can resend 3 times in 15 minutes; after that you'll see "Too many resend attempts. Please try again later." See Create your account and sign in.

You want to change your password while signed in

1. In the sidebar, select Profile.
2. Under Password, select Email reset link.
3. Select Send email.
4. Open the email and select the reset link, then follow steps 4–6 above.
