Why a campaign step was skipped
Updated
Ostira skips a campaign step for a contact when it can't send it or shouldn't. The contact still gets the steps after it, unless they're Do Not Contact. This page also covers why enrolling can be blocked.
The contact has no email address
Email steps need an email address. Without one, the step is skipped for that contact. Add their email in the contact panel and select Save changes. Later email steps will reach them.
The contact has no phone number
Text steps need a phone number. Without one, the step is skipped for that contact. Add their phone in the contact panel and select Save changes. Later text steps will reach them.
The step didn't pass the Fair Housing check
Ostira checks each step again when it's about to send. If the wording is blocked, that step is skipped for the contact. To fix the step for contacts who haven't reached it yet:
- On Campaigns, open the campaign.
- Find the step with issues. Its Compliance review lists each flagged phrase.
- Change the wording yourself, or select a flagged phrase, then its Replace with suggestion.
A fixed step isn't sent again to contacts it already skipped. See How the Fair Housing check works.
The contact is Do Not Contact
Ostira doesn't send to a Do Not Contact contact. The step isn't sent, and the contact is unenrolled from the campaign, so no later steps go out either. See Do Not Contact and unsubscribes.
The step was deleted
A step you delete isn't sent to anyone, including contacts already enrolled.
The enrollment is paused
Nothing is sent while an enrollment is paused. On the campaign's page, Enrolled Contacts shows the status for each contact. To start it again, select Resume. See Pause, resume or unenroll.
"Campaign has Fair Housing compliance issues. Resolve all violations in step content before enrolling contacts."
You selected Enroll Contacts, but at least one step has blocked wording. Nobody can be enrolled until every step passes. Fix the flagged steps as described above, then select Enroll Contacts again.
"Skipped (opted out)" after enrolling
This count includes contacts marked Do Not Contact and contacts already in the campaign. Contacts marked "Opted out" in the list can't be selected. See Enroll contacts in a campaign.
