Payment failed
Updated
When a payment for your Pro plan fails, update your card on Billing. Until a payment goes through, your account is held to free-plan limits.
"Payment Failed" on Billing
Billing shows Pro Plan with a "Payment Failed" badge and the note "Your last payment failed. Please update your payment method to avoid service interruption." The card on file couldn't be charged.
- In the sidebar, select Billing.
- Under Payment Method, select Update Payment Method.
- Enter your new card details.
- Select Save Payment Method.
You'll see "Payment method updated successfully." The new card becomes the one charged for your subscription. Ostira doesn't charge it on the spot. The badge changes back to "Active" once Stripe confirms a payment. If it still says "Payment Failed" after that, email support@ostira.com.
What works while a payment is failing
Your data stays as it is, and nothing is deleted. But the free-plan limits apply to anything new:
| Limit | Free plan |
|---|---|
| Contacts | 25 |
| Campaigns | 1 |
| Ostira's replies to leads | 10 a month |
| Content generations | 5 a month |
When the month's 10 replies are used up, Ostira pauses each conversation it can't answer and tells you. See Plans and limits.
"You've reached your free plan limit"
This appears because the free-plan limits apply while your payment is failing. You don't need to subscribe again. Select Upgrade to Pro — $149/month to open Billing, then update your card as above.
"Your card was saved but could not be set as the default. Try again."
Your new card was added, but it didn't become the card that gets charged. Select Update Payment Method and save the card again.
Conversations stayed paused after you fixed the card
Ostira doesn't restart conversations it paused at the plan limit. Once Billing shows "Active", open each paused conversation and select Hand back to Ostira.
Billing now shows Free Plan
If your subscription ended after failed payments, Billing shows Free Plan. To get Pro back, select Subscribe — $149/month. See Billing and invoices.
